8 time Australian Superkart Champion, Brian Stockman today
has crashed in a some what confusing circumstances.
Whilst Brian was leaving my house at 9:00am this morning
with car trailer on tow, he completely flattened my letterbox. Brian continued
on his journey unaware of the situation. What makes this confusing is that he
flattened the letterbox driving forward, there was no reverse situation to
confuse the issue. When questioning the 8 time Australian Champion via cell
phone, he looked into his side mirror to see minor damage to the trailer's wheel
arch. After further analysis to his setup, it was concluded that his rear track
was much wider than his front track, and hence had misjudged his bearing to the
limits of my driveway.
When FIA track safety officers came to inspect the
incident, they proposed that the replacement letterbox must be now positioned in
compliance to 2006 safety standards to allow for much further "runoff"
area.
Whist track management was quick to purchase a replacement letterbox, they were surprised to find on return
from the hardware that the postman had actually delivered mail placed carefully on the nature strip
beside all the stricken wreckage!!!
