In 1999, John Pellicano and myself built this Zapelli/Yamaha TZ250.
This was due to my Anderson Mirage/TZ250 being
totalled by a 140kph impact. A failed "Rod-End" that supported the top of
the uprights parted company just as I was ready to use the brakes. The kart
slid on it's floor tray for just 5 metres (15 feet) before making heavy
contact with the concrete wall in the last turn at Oran Park. My ankle still gives me some troubles on
cold winter mornings, but it could have been much worst.
This was started in late 1999 and finished in Feb 2000 just in time for
our first race meeting of that year.
